DEVELOPMENT

​Usually ,  for the adventure episodes I  received a script but in the case of the music video his process was different.  For the Magic in Sparkle Cove Music Video we received a short brief and the song from the external client and a choreography to be implemented in certain moments of the song.
In this case the director and I developed the story directly in the storyboarding process, where I was able to directly propose sequences and story beats in  our meetings with the director and producer.

​STORY DEVELOPMENT

For this musical video two had two principal meeting with the director to develop a story and create the animatic.

One for looking at the material and brainstorming the beats of the story. Through the sketches we developed on this meeting and the proposed I realized the first pass of the animatic. This step of the animatic was also used to show the choreographer the idea for the video.

On our second meeting we had the basis of this animatic first pass and we were able to tidy up the sequence being now more specific with each character's personality and  look at the choreography to determine the best moment for it while taking into account the technical constrains and deadlines for the animators and modelers.

This whole process took 5 weeks.

CHOREOGRAPHY

From the beginning we discussed that we couldn't use the whole choreography due to time constrains for the production, so we had to chose the story moment's in which give could give it relevancy since this was also one of the things the client wanted on the final video.

The first pass if the animatic was used to give the choreographer and she created the choreography that would be used for the animation team as reference for the dance moves. 
​From this version of the choreography I proposed the moments in which we could show the characters dancing while still advancing the story we were telling through the music video.
